Air-Conditioning – Available in the Ocean Lounge, Ocean Residence and all Villa bedrooms. As a Citizen of the Great Barrier Reef our role is to reduce potential global warming impacts like the overuse of air-conditioning. 80% of our guests help us, by only using the AC to drop room temperature for a few minutes before bedtime. They turn it off, leave the ceiling fans on and use the sea breezes to cool themselves. Can you help us with our 80% co-operation for the Reef?

Airport Transfer – ZEN Beach Retreat can arrange pick up and delivery to the Bundaberg airport – please enquire if needed. Our preferred Vehicle Hire Company is Budget and preferred limousine services is Bundaberg Limousines
Beach & Pool Towels – Are provided for your comfort as part of your stay. We provide one towel per person during your stay.
Bedding – All bedding has been specifically sourced for guest comfort. Villa configuration can be adjusted between king sized bedding or twin share. We liaise with guests in advance to ensure the correct configuration.
Behaviour - ZEN is a relaxed luxury retreat. All guests should feel relaxed and not uncomfortable at any times as a result of any other guests behaviour. Guests behaving in an uncomfortable manner will be asked to leave without refund.
Broken or Damaged Items - Any broken, damaged or missing items will be charged to the deposit or your credit card, if damages are greater than the deposit.
Cancellation - Whole Retreat – Cancellations within 8 weeks of arrival date incur a 50% cancellation charge. Villas – cancellations cause a 25% deposit charge.
Car Parking – We have uncovered car parking facilities suitable for 8 cars on site. Free public parking is located close by should additional requirements be required.
Ceiling Fans – Available throughout the property in all rooms and are the preferred cooling practices.
Check In & Check Out Times- Check in times are between 14.00 and 18.00. Check out time is before 10.30am on the day of departure. Should you require any variation to the above, reach out to ZEN to make alternate arrangements.
Children – Children are welcome at ZEN Beach Retreat and remain under the care of the parent or guardian present. We should always be mindful of other guests and ensure our children's behaviour is not impacting the enjoyment of others.
Damaged, Broken or Missing Items - Any broken, damaged or missing items will be charged to your credit card. If premises are damaged due to accidental, negligence or wilful act of the guest or the guest’s invitees the premises will be repaired by us at the cost of the registered guest.
Deposit - 25% non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Any broken, damaged or missing items will be charged to the deposit or your credit card if damages are greater than the deposit.
External Guests - Guest comfort is our absolute priority, guest numbers should not exceed our stated capacity in any of the facilities. Should you wish to invite an external guest from outside ZEN, please check with management. Check prior to external guests arriving or using any of the ZEN Beach Retreat facilities. External guests will always be the responsibility of the paying guests and should any damages occur, they will be compensated by the paying guest.
Fire – Fire extinguishers and fire blankets are available and accessible in the Ocean Lounge, Ocean Residence and all Villas. A clear Fire Exit Plan is available in the residence and villas. Our designated meeting point is in the Miller Street car park.
Forgotten anything? – Let us know and we will do what we can to find a suitable solution for you.
Ironing – Ironing facilities are available in the Ocean Residence & Guest laundry on the roadside of the villas. Additionally we can arrange for external pressing if needed.
Laundry – Ocean Residence has a downstairs laundry. Villa guests can access the guest laundry. We also have access to professional laundromat services at additional cost should you require them - please enquire within.
Lights - We live in a Loggerhead Sea Turtle Habitat. To help protect the species it' s our responsibility to turn off lights during the Turtle nesting & hatching season - November to April every year. 80% of our guests help with this and we look forward to your support as well. Cut the Glow to let the Turtles Go!
Linen & Bath Towels - All are provided during your stay. Linen and towels are replaced during your stay every 3 nights. We are mindful of the environment and as a Citizen of the Great Barrier Reef, we encourage limited use of detergents at all times. Should you require more frequency than 3 nights, please let us know.
Liquor – ZEN Beach Retreat is a licensed venue for staying guests during retreat and short stay activities. We uphold all Queensland liquor licensing laws during times of alcohol service. Where off site catering is used during special events we will provide security to ensure the responsible use of alcohol during this time. Responsible consumption of alcohol is expected at all times at ZEN.
Christmas and New Year Weeks – minimum stay is seven (7) nights.
School holidays – minimum stay is three (3) nights.
Long Weekends – minimum stay is (3) nights.
Mobile Phone - Digital Detox – Please keep your mobile phone on silent or vibrate mode while at ZEN Beach Retreat. As a relaxed luxury beachfront retreat and we encourage social interactions at all times and reduced distractions.
Noise – During your stay we ask that you are mindful of noise level. ZEN Beach Retreat is a Relaxed Luxury Beachfront Retreat and respects guest privacy and noise levels at all times.
Pets – Certain pets are permitted if checked with ZEN Beach Retreat first. If you have pets allergies, please be informed ZEN has a resident dog and cat on premises.
Pillows – Guest comfort is always our priority and a selection of alternative pillows are available in soft, medium and firm comfort ratings, just let us know your preference.
Relaxarium Spa – Whole retreat bookings have exclusive use of the Relaxarium Spa during their stay. Villa bookings have access to the Relaxarium Spa by appointment and at a small additional charge.
Room service – Your room will be fully serviced every 3 days during your fully hosted stay. A light service of rubbish removal and general tidy up occurs daily. Should you have any specific needs, please let us know and we will do what we can.
Safety deposit box – there is a safe on site for the security of small items - risk still remains with the guest. Please ask if the security box is needed.
Sky Deck and Sky Lounge – Available for guest use during your stay. We close the deck at a reasonable hour to ensure guest comfort. We do not adopt a policy of leaving towels on chairs to reserve them.
Smoke alarms – All rooms / residences at ZEN Beach Retreat contain smoke alarms that are wired into the main power system and comply with current Queensland legislation.
Smoking – ZEN is a 100% smoke free retreat. There is to be no smoking within 10m of the property boundaries. Deviation from the smoke free policy incurs substantial charges to clean any area of the facility affected.
Stress Free Retreat – ZEN is a 100% stress free retreat. We don't have fixed breakfast times, but a sumptuous breakfast hamper you can enjoy at your convenience at a time convenient for you.
TV – One TV exists in the Ocean Residence. We do not have TV's in the villas or lounges to encourage social interaction at all times. Guests have continuously shared with us they prefer this.
Water – Tap water at ZEN Beach Retreat is fine for drinking, should you prefer any bottled water please check with us and we will arrange what we can.
WiFi - Free high speed broadband WiFi is available throughout all of ZEN Beach Retreat.
